The goal of this project was to create a 15s ident for the HGTV Channel. Inspired by the home flipping shows, the narrative of this ident showcases a home with rough edges to becoming a repaired family home.

HGTV's mission statement is "Satisfy curiosity and make a difference in people's lives by providing the highest-quality content, services, and products that entertain, engage, and enlighten.” The content that mainly serves HGTV are reality programing that revolve around home improvement and real estate. These shows are mostly light-hearted and often watched by families.
The ident I am designing is going in a more minimalistic approach. Through the use of iconography design, I will be highlighting HGTV’s Home flipping shows. With lots of morphing, transforming, and rebuilding, the ident will contain a lot of dynamic movement. In this project, I really want to push my ability of layering micro-animations/follow-through, to help build my ability in making more fluid motion pieces. The short storytelling will also push me to really think about what’s important to the viewers as well as my ability to effectively communicate the channel’s energy/vibe.
